Michael Kalatschan becomes the new CFO of TroGroup

Michael Kalatschan will take over the position of CFO at TroGroup on May 1, 2025. The 46-year-old Upper Austrian will succeed Peter Köstler, who will step down from his role at the end of April 2025. 

Wels, 4 April 2025. Michael Kalatschan brings more than 15 years of experience from industry-leading companies, which ideally qualifies him for his new role as CFO of the TroGroup. Together with CEO Bernd Badurek, Kalatschan will lead the group with its three divisions – Trodat, Trotec and Iradion/Luxinar – and continue the growth strategy. “I am delighted to be joining TroGroup to further develop its financial strategy and to drive the future growth of this technology-oriented, agile family business together with the team,” said Kalatschan.

Dr. Michael Kalatschan studied production and management technology at the University of Applied Sciences in Steyr and completed a master's and doctoral program in economics at the Johannes Kepler University Linz. In his previous professional career, he was most recently CFO of B&R Industrial Automation GmbH, a subsidiary of the ABB Group, and prior to that he worked for the Miba Group, among others. “Michael Kalatschan has extensive expertise in strategic management, in-depth experience in finance and profound knowledge of numerous industries – from automation technology and robotics to mechanical engineering and automotive,” explains Christopher Müller, owners´ representative of TroGroup. ”We are convinced and very pleased that he will make a significant contribution to the further development of our company with his know-how and leadership.”

The mandate of the current CFO, Peter Köstler, who has been with the company since 2018, is set to expire and will not be extended by mutual agreement. “Peter Köstler has been an enormous support for the company since 2018. Not only has he steered the TroGroup confidently through challenging times such as the Corona crisis in recent years, but he has also continuously developed the finance department and made it fit for the future. We would like to thank Peter for his significant contribution to the success of our company and wish him all the best, both personally and professionally, as well es continued success,” says Müller.
